The day begins with a cup of coffee that we take with us as we wander out the screen door into a world of soft white that hides everything but the gentle sound of the surf shushing on the beach. The bottom step is damp and cool where I sit to watch as the fog slowly thins and the world begin to appear like a phantom. Nearby we see where the beach grass has been dancing with the breezes and creating circles in the sand. Inch by inch the sun dissolves the mist. The foam at the shoreline ebbs and flows and pushes little treasures onto the sand. A seagull calls and then another. The sun glistens on ocean surface and I stand to go for a closer look at those treasures.
The original was painted using encaustic with imbedded sea gifts and amber beads.
